Thinking About Leasing Office Space?
July 1998 Thinking about leasing office space? According to last month's survey participants, long-range planning is key to finding space
that will accommodate your business needs as they grow. Seventy-two percent of respondents said they reviewed their business plan to determine short and long-term needs before committing to a lease, and 70 percent negotiated or planned to negotiate a flexible lease that will allow them to expand or reduce the amount of space they need.
When seeking potential office space, 35 percent of survey participants reported that a "high-traffic" location most influenced their decision. Twenty percent based their decision on appearance, room for expansion, or a short commute. Who helped them make their decisions? Forty-six percent said they enlisted the help of a business partner or co-worker, while only 17 percent hired a real estate agent or attorney. An additional 17 percent sought counsel from a family member.
